FAQ

An Easy Grade Calculator is a simple tool designed to quickly compute your current class grade, test percentage, or the minimum score you need on an upcoming assignment to maintain your desired grade.

To find your test grade percentage, divide the number of correct answers (points earned) by the total possible questions (total points available), and then multiply by 100.

Formula: Test Percentage = (Points Earned ÷ Total Points) × 100

Example: If you get 42 out of 50 questions correct, the calculation is: (42 ÷ 50) × 100 = 84% (which is typically a letter grade of B).

If your class uses weighted categories (e.g., Homework 20%, Quizzes 30%, Exams 50%), you calculate the average score for each category, multiply it by its respective weight percentage, and add the results together.

Formula: Final Grade = (Cat 1 Score × Weight 1) + (Cat 2 Score × Weight 2) + ...

While grading scales can vary depending on your school or university, the standard American grading scale is generally structured as follows:

  • A: 90% – 100%
  • B: 80% – 89%
  • C: 70% – 79%
  • D: 60% – 69%
  • F: Below 60%

Yes. An easy grade calculator computes your current running average by only accounting for the tasks that have already received points. Ungraded or future assignments will not lower your current standing until a zero or a specific grade is entered for them.
