How the GPA Formula Works
Your semester GPA is calculated using the following formula:
Total Grade Points ÷ Total Credit Hours = Semester GPA
Here’s how the calculation works:
Each letter grade is converted into grade points.
Grade points are multiplied by the credit hours for each course.
The results are added together to determine total grade points earned.
Total grade points are divided by the total credit hours completed during the semester.
The final result is your semester GPA.
Track Your Academic Progress
Keeping an accurate GPA record can help you monitor your performance, stay on track for graduation requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement. By adding multiple semesters, you can view both your semester GPA and cumulative GPA in one place.
Save your information and return anytime to update your records as new grades become available. Regularly tracking your GPA makes it easier to set academic goals and measure your progress throughout college.
